Then go to any site and click on the blue play button it installed on the top right of the browser window. It will look for pictures within that site and display them in a gorgeous “3D” wall. You can also search for images and get a feel for the vastness of the internet 🙂
General Update
After much consideration I decided to drop this class to be able to focus on my thesis and some other parallel projects I am working on.
I am doing an internship at Sagatiba where I am implementing a mini CRM tool for them to organize their events, contacts, and promotional material.
I am also developing an application for a photo exhibit that will allow the visitors to call a number from their cell phones, select their language of preference, and then hear the description and comments of each photograph in the gallery. I will be using Asterisk – an open source platform that handles the incoming calls and voice recordings.
Finally, I set myself solid on the idea of an interactive and self paced series of photography
exercises aimed at improving your basic shooting techniques. These exercises are delivered to the user’s mobile phone. They can take the pictures with their camera phones or regular digital cameras. Each person is assigned to a small group of other users that are going through the exercises. A peer review mechanism is in place where you are able to give and get feedback on your results. My mission now is to be able to summarize this idea into a more cohesive and concise project…

Back in NY
So the holidays are over and I am back in NY. Great to be back and find everything in order and a not so cold weather! Sure – nothing compared to Miami but not bad at all!
New Year!
After a very quick but delightful visit to Brazil where I spent Christmas with my family, I came back to the US and went straight to Miami where I spent the new years with Raffa.
We then splurged and went to Las Vegas for 4 days! What a crazy place – exaggeration is an understatement. Everything is VERY expensive and luscious.
We did quite a few cool things:
– Indy-style race car drive – cool but slow compared to what the car can do – it a 600hp car that reaches up the 220 mph – we went up to 150 mph – but what really “frustrated” me was the fact that it was an oval track! Boring to drive but was worth it just to feel the power of the car.
– Cirque du Soleil – “O” – very cool show, an amazing water filled stage with moving platforms and the “standard” body twisting/equilibrium impossibilities of the actors/dancers.
– Helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon – amazing last minute trip!
Some interesting facts about Vegas:
– Fastest growing city in the US
– One new school district created every month
– 3000 new inhabitants a month
